Everyone dreams since ancient ages as dreams are not only a pleasant feeling but are a motivation that builds ours lives, our ambitions, our aims, our plans & a reason to live. Earlier the dreams were only into one’s imagination that people used to share just by talking to each other or by their writings.
Later there was a period where people starting bringing imagination into reality by the means of books, novels, plays, dramas etc but the reach was limited. It was limited to the restricted audience where the artists used play it every time audiences had to watch it by the means of theatre, dramas, road shows, etc.
1895, the beginning of a revolution that would never ever end till the end of the world when Lumiere brothers invented a screen, that was larger than life. It was a scientific invention that made the art of plays into a non perishable, memorable, repeatable & unforgettable mean. That was a medium that could preserve the one time production for lifetime & even after that and could be played even after the artists are no more in the world. Amazing invention. Imagine how we know a 50 years old films, their stars, stardom their formats of living, film making etc just by the mean of cinema. It was not only to enjoy but it made the artists of that time unforgettable & immortal. It provided a strong platform for the next generations to learn from the work of their seniors even when they are not in the world. That’s too through a visual medium that is much more appealing & effective to the eyes. Else how would we know our ancestral stars like Raj Kapoor, Prithviraj Kapoor, Hrishikesh Mukherji, RD Burman, SD Burman, Sohrab Modi, Ashok Kumar, Suraiya, Madhubala, Nargis, Nutan, Gurudatt, Nirupa Rai, Kishore Kumar etc as we have never ever seen then but still we can witness their talents, the cinematic scenario of that time etc. Today Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Cameroon, Brad Pitt, Cameroon, Spielberg, Angelina Jolie, Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet, Johny Depp, Ben Stiller, Tom Hanks, Adam Standler, Daniel Radcliff, Robert Downey, George Clooney from Hollywood & Amitabh Bachan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Dilip Kumar, Shakti Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Mithun Chakraborty, Bipasha Basu, John Abraham, Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Pooja Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, Vikram Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Kajol, Hritik Roshan, Priyanka Chpra, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Khanna, Saif Ali Khan, Mallika Sehrawat, Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty, Rajnikant, Chiranjeev, Venkatesh, Manoj Tiwari and many others are glitters of our eyes because of Cinema. Yes, we are talking of the cinema. Thousands of the trends, fashions, ideologies, styles, patterns kept on polishing this divine blessing of the scientific technology to the mankind.
That not only gave him a mean to entertain him but many other things like witnessing the world on a silver screen that was only in his dreams till now, sharing his dreams with others, getting motivated towards a better life & bringing some beautiful moments in their monotonous and competitive lifestyle.
Not only this but cinema also proven itself as a wonderful weapon that could be used in bringing change in the society at par because its reach was to the masses & could influence them in a very intense manner. India is the world's largest producer of films. According to a survey in 2009, India produced a total of 2961 films on celluloid that include a staggering figure of 1288 feature films. The provision of 100% foreign direct investment has made the Indian film market attractive for foreign enterprises such as 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Pictures and Warner Bros.Indian enterprises such as Zee, UTV and Sun Network's Sun Pictures also participated in producing and distributing films. Tax incentives to multiplexes have aided the multiplex boom in India. By 2003 as many as 30 film production companies had been listed in the National Stock Exchange of India, making the commercial presence of the medium felt.
The Indian Diaspora consists of millions of Indians overseas for which films are made available both through mediums such as DVDs and by screening of films in their country of residence wherever commercially feasible. These earnings, accounting for some 12% of the revenue generated by a mainstream film, contribute substantially to the overall revenue of Indian cinema, the net worth of which was found to be US$1.3 billion in 2000. Music in Indian cinema is another substantial revenue generator, with the music rights alone accounting for 4–5% of the net revenues generated by films in India.
So honoring the world of Cinema & cherish these moments of celebrations is an honor for ourselves. Let’s bring the global cinemas under one community & celebrate each & everyone achievements.
Let’s celebrate, cherish & honor the event.
